Maintenance
The primary function of the township maintenance department is to maintain roads, right-of-ways, parks and cemeteries for Harlan Township. The maintenance department reports to the Harlan Township Board of Trustees.
This includes:
- Park maintenance
- Mowing grass along right-of-ways
- Tree removal in right-of-ways
- Paving of Township roads
- Snow removal
- Replacement/removal of culvert pipes
- Road closures
- Maintaining Township vehicles and equipment
- Cemetery maintenance
- Installation of guardrails
Fire & EMS
The Harlan Township Fire and EMS Department provides high quality service to the citizens and visitors in Harlan Township and the members of the department are all volunteers. The department operates out of two fire stations in the township:
Station 81 - Main location in the Harlan Township Trustee Administration Building in Pleasant Plain
Station 82 - A smaller, secondary location on State Route 123, next to Whitacre Park
The Department also operates a cadet program.
